About Morehouse College
In 1867, two years after the Civil War ended, Augusta Institute was established in the basement of Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. Founded in 1787, Springfield Baptist is the oldest independent African American church in the United States. The school’s primary purpose was to prepare black men for the ministry and teaching. Today, Augusta Institute is Morehouse College, which is located on a 66-acre campus in Atlanta and enjoys an international reputation for producing leaders who have influenced national and world history.

Morehouse Men.com was founded by David N. Roach, class of 1991, Business Finance Major, to promote the concept of service taught at Morehouse, to the world through the internet.

Community Service Alumni of 2009
In 2009, David N. Roach was awarded the Community Service Alumnus of the Year at Morehouse College for his work of working with African American farmers, through a program called Mo Better Food.
“Morehouse College changed my life! However, I was fortunate enough to attend and graduate from Morehouse. A huge part of MorehouseMen.com is to reach alumnus of Morehouse to give back to Morehouse College to make sure every African American Male can also attend the place we call “The House.” It was during my years at Morehouse when I found my purpose.
